To Whom This May Concern:
My name is Danielle Smith.  I am seventeen years old and a senior at Cherokee High School.  On May 21st I am organizing a benefit for the Anthony Farrace Memorial Scholarship fund.
This past summer, on July 6th 2007, Anthony Farrace was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a tree on Route 70 in Southampton.  After arriving at the hospital Anthony was pronounced dead.  Anthony was going to be a senior at Cherokee High School.  Anthony Farrace was a football player, wrestler, and a National Honor Society member.  Most importantly however, he was a son, brother, grandson, and friend.  Anthony had a huge impact on me and everyone who knew him.  He was an honest, respectful, and friendly young man with strong morals and convictions.  Anthony had honorable aspirations and had a life long dream of attending the Naval Academy after graduation.  Shortly before his death someone approached Anthony with the question, “what is honor?”  Anthony responded by saying, "honor is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking."
This terrible tragedy of a young life cut too short has left his family and our community devastated.  On May 21st 2008 I am holding a BBQ at Champps restaurant benefit to support the Anthony Farrace Memorial Scholarship fund, to allow everyone to come together and support his family members, and to honor his memory.  The event will be open to Cherokee High School students as well as the community.  Any contribution you could make to make the fundraiser a success would be greatly appreciated.  Anthony’s family would also like to extend their gratitude for your generosity.  We are hoping that the money raised at the event will help other deserving students and also continue on Anthony’s memory.
          Thank you again,
          Danielle Smith
