MRC Sports Registrations

** IMPORTANT MRC SPORTS REGISTRATION INFORMATION **

ALL REGISTRATIONS FOR COACHES AND PLAYERS will be via THIS PAGE and through the links below.  MRC will be using TeamSnap for player and coach registration and team management.  If you do not have a TeamSnap account, you will create an account during the registration process, at which time you can register for the respective sports and coaching positions below. NO registrations will be done in SIPlay, Sports Engine or Groundworks. No cash or checks will be accepted.

In the event that a fee is charged, and a season starts and is cancelled, or their is a shortened/partial season due to COVID19, the MRC Executive Board and Commissioners will determine an appropriate refund strategy.

COACHING

      & VOLUNTEERING

Coaches will need to register for each sport that they desire to coach. Coaches should have credentials #1 and #2 before registering. Background checks will be completed after registration.

All Coaches are required to register for each sport you would like to coach. If you have multiple children, you will need to register for each division separately so that when division coordinators run their report your name will be recognized and considered. There is no cost at this time.  

Registering does not guarantee a coaching position.

All Sport Board Member are required to register as a volunteer for their Sport each season if they will not be a coach.

Coaches/Sport Board Volunteers will need to register themselves including your legal name, date of birth, address and proper contact information. Your spouse can not register on your behalf.

Coaches Certification is a 3 step process.

1.  All Coaches must attend the RUTGERS Coaching Clinic. This one-time class will provide your RUTGERS Coaching Certification for LIFE. Prospective coaches only need attend one class. The class size is limited to 50 and we need a minimum of 10 people to register to hold the class. The Marlton course fee is a one-time fee of $35.00 and certification is valid for life.  For our April classes, participants MUST register and pay below through TeamSnap.

2.  CONCUSSION TRAINING - completed online by clicking HERE

3.  BACKGROUND CHECK- completed online. This will be facilitated by the MRC Safety Director and instructions for this will be sent in a separate email.

FIELD HOCKEY

 

Fall 2021 registrations are OPEN May 3, 2021 to June 30th. A late fee of $25.00 will apply after June 30 with a hard close of July 15th. 

  • K-2 Clinic $85.00 ($110 if late)
  • Grades 3-5: $115 ($140 if late)
  • Grades 6-8: $125 ($150 if late)

K-2ND GRADE CLINIC: K-2nd grade clinics Start on Saturday September 11, 2021. Clinics will run every Saturday 8-9 AM for 8 weeks. 

JUNIOR TEAMS (3RD-5TH GRADES): Junior Teams begin practice on August 16. Practices continue every Monday and Wednesday., games typically Saturday.

SENIOR TEAMS (6TH-8TH GRADES): Senior Teams begin practice on August 17.  Practices continue every Tuesday and Thursday. Games typically Sunday after 12:00pm.

EQUIPMENT: All girls will need a stick, colored mouth guard (no strap), and shin guards.

SOCCER

     Travel 

Team selections have been completed.  If your child has been offered a position on one of our rosters, please complete the registration for Soccer (Travel) below.

For the 2021-2022 season, the registration fee is $60.00.  This is for shared expenses associated with the club and the MRC.  Invoices for team related expenses will be sent after registration has been completed.  Team expenses vary based on the team budget.  The registration form is open below.

The Sports Unity Program provides the opportunity for special needs adults ages 18-35 to participate in organized sports.

The Sports Unity Program provides the opportunity for special needs children to participate in organized sports.

The Sports Unity Program will be coordinating  Summer Swimming and Fall Soccer, Hockey and Quick Ball.

Summer Swimming

Registration open April 9 and close July 5.  The season is July 11 to August 22. Sessions are from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.

Sports Unit Program for Adults!  Based on the tremendous success of the Sports Unity Program, the Marlton Rec Council is launching a program for adults ages 18-35, to play team sports, socialize and have fun. Our mission is to offer a special needs adaptive sports and socialization program for adults with developmental disabilities.

The first SUP for Adults Program begins in the Fall of 2021, with Kickball.  The Fall session will run in September and October at the Diamonds on Monday nights 9/13 to 10/25 from 7:30-8:45pm. Registration is open below May 1 to August 14.

STREET HOCKEY

    Summer 2021

We will be accepting SUMMER 2021 Street Hockey registrations from April 15 to May 22.   Games will begin Week of June 1 and wrap up by July 29, with a game or two played during the week Monday through Thursday. No sports weekend conflicts or vacation conflicts! No practice, games only! (3) 10-minute period games, no standings or playoffs in summer league. All divisions, $60.00 per child. 

Summer street hockey is a relaxed program. Summer league is designed for a few things:

1. Players who will be moving up in their division in Winter 2021 Hockey will play UP in that division in THIS Summer league. 

2. New player? Come try out summer league! Laid back, no pressure!

3. Want to try being a goalie? Are you a goalie who wants to run out? Come try summer league!

BASEBALL

     Spring 2021 Rec Baseball

Spring 2021 Baseball registration is open January 13th to March 14th.

A late fee of $25.00 will be charged for any registration after March 14th (except 13-16 and 17/18 year old divisions) until the hard cut-off date of March 27th. 

Marlton Baseball is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to developing and promoting the game of baseball for the youth of Evesham Township. We utilize fields within the town that are maintained by the township, the Evesham Twp. Schools and Marlton Baseball. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy and fun environment to teach the fundamentals through MRC volunteer coaches. We will start the season (weather permitting) with "spring training" in late March. These will be practices stressing fundamentals with scrimmaging to help get them ready for the season.

May 1st we will open our season at the Diamonds at Arrowhead and celebrate the game of baseball with music, the MLB Jr Home Run Derby hosted by the Marlton Elks organization, and more! We will wind down the season in early June for the younger age groups and the 9/10/11/12 will play through til the end of June. 

The Babe Ruth program for ages 13-18  will start is April and run through July.

  • 6yr old Baseball $150  We will introduce Coach pitch baseball along with utilizing a Tee for batting. Continuing to emphasize the fundamentals we will begin to introduce them to a little more competition in the game along with an elevated level of instruction.
  • 7yr old Baseball $150    We will utilize the coaches for pitching.  We will emphasize team concepts, rules of baseball, proper batting, fielding and catching positions and where to make defensive plays.
  • 8 yr old Baseball $150  We will introduce player pitch with the coaches at this age. Furthering the team, defense, offense and rules of baseball.  This age group has the opportunity to try out for the higher level "travel teams" in April. This higher level of baseball is separate of the rec program and begins in late May through to mid July.   • 9/10yr old Baseball $150  We will draft players in early March to balance the teams and play a competitive season.

Basketball Winter Recreation Registrations is usually open in the Fall and we offer the following divisions. There is currently no basketball at this time.

Fall 2020 Cheerleading registrations  are closed.  

CROSS COUNTRY

Fall 2020 Cross Country registrations are closed.   When the season begins, registrants will be invoiced the season fee of $50.00.

Spring Flag Football Registration is open  March 5 to April 9.

Play with your friends, grades K-12.  Games are Sundays at Evesboro Downs from Mid-April through Mid-June.  Registration $130 includes team jersey, flags and belt.

FOOTBALL

Fall 2020 registration is closed.  The start of the fall season is TBD. 

Ages for Registering for the Tackle Football Season are noted below. These ages are as of October 1st 2020:

  • 70 lb – 5,6 year olds

  • 85 lb – 7,8 year olds

  • 100 lb – 9,10 Year olds

  • 115 lb – 11,12 Year olds

  • Junior high – 13, 14 year olds (7th and 8th grade).

  • No 9th graders permitted

Practice starts Sept 1st and is every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Practices are held at Evesboro-Downs fields. We will be following the guidelines similar to the high schools.  Games start October.

Lacrosse

     Boys Lacrosse

Boys lacrosse registration will open on January 1st and close on January 20th. This short duration registration period is necessary so that we can monitor and navigate any COVID restrictions.

Boys Lacrosse Leagues and tournaments will field teams based on grade of the player and the cost is $160.00

  • Grades 7/8
  • Grades 5/6
  • Grades 3/4
  • Grades 1/2

 Scoopers (Grades K and 1st Graders playing their first year of lax) 
Cost: $100. This includes a uniform.

We will wear the same uniforms as last year. Individual uniform pieces will be available for purchase as needed in January (date to be announced.) Please check the fit of your uniform with pads when you register.

Players must renew or join US Lacrosse prior to registering to play. Your US Lacrosse info will be asked at time of registration. Join here, it is $30 per player. https://www.uslacrosse.org/membership

The email used to join US Lacrosse is the email used to verify your membership; you may get an error if it is not the same one as your TeamSnap email. Be aware you may receive an error message at time of registration. US Lacrosse support can help.

Girls lacrosse: Registration will open December 10th and close February 1st. 

This short duration registration period is necessary so that we can monitor and navigate any COVID restrictions.

SPRING 2021 Recreation Softball registration will be open January 11th to March 5.  Late registrations after March 5 will be charged a $25.00 late fee.

Registration for those players in travel softball is now open. Travel Softball registration is required for anyone playing  travel softball and the fee is $35.00. Registration for travel softball coaches is also required, there is no fee.  Team fees will be invoiced through TeamSnap by the Softball Treasurer as the season progresses. Note, if you are playing or coaching in recreation softball AND travel, you must complete both registration processes.

     Fall High School League

Fall High School Ball Hockey League- by Invitation Only. The registration form is closed. 

Register here if you have been offered a roster position on the Chiefs HSBHL Team. The cost is $140.00   The start and format of the fall season is Sunday’s, September 13 to November 22.

We will be accepting Street Hockey Winter 2020 registrations from CLOSED.  A late fee of $25.00 will be applied to all registrations after October 1. A multi-child discount will be applied at time of registration, but all children must be registered at the same time. Registration now is a $70.00 fee for all divisions, with the balance due for the season, split equally,  automatically charged to your payment method on October 15th and December 31, 2020. This is the installment payment option during registration-you can leave on, or toggle off to pay the fee in full at time of registration as well.

Track & Field

       Spring 2021

 

Parents and Athletes,

It has been over a year since I have communicated with many of you. What a year it has been. Last year, we lost our Spring Track season due to the global pandemic. This year we are still faced with the necessity of addressing issues that continue to affect our daily lives due to that same pandemic.

This year’s MRC Track & Field will look and feel very different than many of you are accustomed to. The situation with youth athletics is fluid.  My fellow commissioners and myself continue to “pivot” in an effort to provide opportunities for our athletes to engage in the sport that they love.

Myself and the MRC Track Assistant Commissioner have been working with the MRC Board and many of the Commissioners from our fellow teams in the GSTAF Association. In an effort to remain safe and adhere to New Jersey state guidance as it pertains to group/team athletics, we believe that we have a plan in place that will allow us to achieve that goal.

I know that many parents and athletes are eager to sign up for MRC Track & Field, but I want to provide you with the most current information as to the changes in our program to keep all members of our community safe and meet New Jersey state guidance. Some or all of the following conditions may change as circumstances with the pandemic change.

The following Township and programs will be attempting to field a team from the GSTAF;

Camden, Medford, Washington Township, World Athlete, Rancocas Valley, and Marlton

All of the above mentioned teams have agreed to:

  • Only field a team with athletes nine years of age or older (all athletes must be nine years of age or turn nine years prior to December 31, 2021).
    • MRC will have a separate registration for eight and under athletes that will not compete in a team format. U8 program will resemble intramural athletics.
  • No spectators will be allowed.
  • Events may have a limited number of participants per team.
  • There is a great possibility, that we will not run relays.
  • At this time field events may be limited to long jump only.
  • Practices will have a soft start date of March 15.

We know that many of you will have many questions (trust me, at this time so do we). Assistant Commissioner Greg Cieslik and myself, Commissioner Chris Corona, will be meeting with our fellow commissioners for the GSTAF teams again on February 20. After that meeting, we will be putting together a virtual Q&A for MRC parents.

Greg and myself also want to encourage all parents of athletes to consider obtaining their MRC coaching certificate. You can find more information about attending a course in becoming certified through the MRC website. No experience in Track & Field is necessary to be a coach. Remember, the New Jersey state guidance as of this writing indicates that no spectators will be allowed.

Registration is NOW OPEN. At this time, the planned close date for registration will be March 8. The fee for the season is $115.00

Wrestling

Registration for Wrestling is now open from October 23rd to November 29th. We are accepting registrations for wrestlers in grades 5th to 8th grade. The season cost is $150.00, due at time of registration. We anticipate a season start of 12/3/20 and an end date of 3/1/21. Our practice site remains to be determined.
