April 27, 2020

Dear Baseball Families,

This 2020 Spring Season is unlike any we have ever known.  Please be aware that the MRC Executive Board and Commissioners have been meeting weekly, if not more, and are in contact almost daily trying to figure out how to navigate the Covid Pandemic.

With Governor Murphy’s new plan, broken into phases, we realize that some sports having a spring season is unobtainable. However, there are spring sports that may still be able to take place, just starting later in the spring/early summer. It is our hope and intent that our baseball will fall into the latter category.

We have a tentative date of May 20, 2020, to see what the Governor’s directive and phased plan will entail. The baseball board knows that our season this year will look different, but our goal is to get our players on the field. In the end, coaches want to coach and we must do so in a safe environment. We know that the boys want to play and we are doing everything in our power to make that happen.

As always, the baseball board appreciates the patience our families are giving us as we do our best to find a solution, especially as fluid and ever-changing as this situation has been. While the MRC office is closed as non-essential, their office staff will be working remotely. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Stay positive and we will be out on the fields soon enough.
