To the Marlton Baseball Program:

We hope all of you and your families are doing well.  The Marlton Baseball Program wants to keep all of you posted on our plans for the 2020 season.

In the recent announcements by the Town officials the fields of Marlton have been opened to the residents for “passive recreation." We are still awaiting the approval for organized youth sports to take place.

This season will be very different in the ways that we coach the boys and prepare them for the games. Our original plans for the season are no longer feasible so we now have to adapt to our new situation and move forward.

In April we committed to the MRC Executive Board that the Marlton Baseball Program plans on playing this season. We had told them that we had no intention of canceling the season at that point in this situation. As of this moment nothing has changed.

We have had many conversations with officials and our Marlton Baseball Executive Board.  We purchased the uniforms, baseballs and equipment, and our field maintenance people have been doing a great job keeping the fields ready to go.  We have committed to giving the boys of Marlton the opportunity to play baseball this season.  We understand what the game means to the boys and their families and we are willing to start this 2020 season whenever we get the go-ahead from the MRC executive board.

We are hoping that July 1st could be the date in New Jersey, if so that gives us plenty of time to get the boys on the fields and prepare them for games and tournaments.

When we get the green light we will need all of you to help us through this season. The new expectations to keep everyone safe need to be respected by all.

We also have to be prepared for the possibility that we get the approval to resume youth sports too late into the summer and cannot start the 2020 REC baseball season.  At that point the MRC Baseball board will review the refund situation and how much we will be able to offer in a refund.   One step at a time.

Thank you,

Marlton Baseball
