Celebration of Rec Opening Day on May 1 at The Diamonds!
Swing for the fences at this free event for kids 4-15!
It's finally here -- and we can't wait to celebrate 2021 Rec Opening Day with our baseball families on Saturday, May 1 at The Diamonds of Arrowhead Park!
In addition to opening day games, this day will feature a:
- MLB Home Run Derby & Statewide Elks Batter Up Competition with special guest National League Champion Phillie Mickey Morandini ... plus relay races, karaoke, face painting, and tattoos! (Register on-site - event is 1:15-2:45pm) - Field #4 - free and open to all kids ages 4-15
- A food drive to #strikeouthunger and pack the pantry to help families in need ... as well as DEON'S BOOK Drive, supported by Marlton Recreation Council, to get kids reading in Evesham Township
- Great music
- The on-sale of the Marlton Baseball 50/50 Raffle (last year's winner won $18,000!)
- The official opening of our snack stand featuring tasty concessions
- The opportunity to purchase Marlton Baseball merchandise and gear
- And more! (P.S. Volunteers needed!)

MLB Home Run Derby & Statewide Elk Batter-Up Competition
The Marlton Elks are hosting an MLB Homerun Derby and a Statewide Elk Batter-up Competition as part of Marlton Baseball's Celebration of Opening Day! Features special guest: 1993 National League Champion & Phillies Ambassador Mickey Morandini! Plus, Phillies giveaways for participants.
Date: Saturday, May 1
Time: 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.
Location: The Diamonds at Arrowhead Park, 984 Tuckerton Road, Marlton NJ 08053 Field #4

MLB Competition starts at @ The Diamonds at Arrowhead, winners compete @ The Regionals. Winners of the Regionals compete @ Coors Field on July 13th @ the MLB All-Star game.

Other fun happenings during the Homerun Derby include the many medals that will be awarded to winners of Relay Races & Baseball Competitions. Face Painting and temporary tattoos will also be available. It will be fun for all ages!
The Elks appreciate being a part of Marlton Baseball's special day. We also appreciate the assistance from the Cherokee ROTC & Marlton YAC (Marlton Youth Advisory Committee).
Opening Day Food Drive on May 1 - The Diamonds
Let's help feed families in need at our Opening Day Celebration Food Drive on Saturday, May 1 at The Diamonds of Arrowhead.
All food collected will be donated to the Prince of Peace Food Pantry, which feeds dozens of families each week.
List of Requested Food Items:
- Canned tuna, canned chicken, spam
- Canned beans, vegetables, fruit, soup
- Peanut butter, jelly, applesauce
- Cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix (complete), syrup
- Rice (small boxes, bags, or pouches), instant mashed potatoes
- Spaghetti sauce, pasta, macaroni and cheese
- Shelf-stable milk
- Soap, shampoo
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes
- Toilet paper (bulk)
Monetary donations can also be made to the food pantry through Marlton Rec Council by texting MRC to 609-212-0627.
