MRC Soccer Gives Back

"I cried because I had no shoes until I saw someone with no feet..."

Think about that quote for a moment...  We are very fortunate to live is such a great township and, more importantly, a great country!...

We were cleaning out and organizing some of the items the soccer program uses...  We found some old uniforms on a shelf collecting dust from years past...  We thought of donating the extra clothes and found a great cause...

A relative of one of the members of the soccer committee went on a mission trip to Romania brought some "gifts" courtesy of Marlton Soccer and took some pictures...

As volunteers who put much time and energy into managing a large program with many challenges including those from parents, we often wonder whether what we do is stuff that matters or has meaning.

These photos make it all worthwhile...

Hi Sandi,

It was a good trip, and the soccer uniforms were a big hit!  Timing was prefect as they just started a soccer camp in Chiselet. Having the father/son time was good, as was the experience for him.  Here are few photos from the trip.   One shows a fishing (netting) trip - Cullen went with the missionaries son.  He thought he was going fishing with a pole, came out very muddy!  One of the local families cooked the fish while we held a soccer clinic with the children of Chiselet, Romania.  One photo shows a man with his horse and cart passing the soccer field – this is a common method of transportation.  We spent time on this trip doing humanitarian work, taking clothing to families in the village for winter, providing school supplies and basic food items to the Gypsies.
