2019 PRE-SEASON Charity TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Coaches - Players - Parents,

Marlton Street Hockey has a long-standing tradition of giving back. Supporting local charities, non-profits, our own Hockey Family or to support the upgrades to our complex and the maintenance required to provide a great experience for the kids.  MRC Hockey has held registration rates steady for many years and does not mandate additional raffle sales or registration add on’s to accomplish what we do. Without you, the parents and our sponsors, our league could not function the way it does. We thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for the kids in the program and our community.  We need your help with the Pre-Season Charity Tournament this year.

This year the MRC Street Hockey pre-season charity tournament will raise funds to support:

Camp No Worries, Where Children with Cancer and Their Siblings Can Just Be Kids for a Week Every Summer! If you are interested in volunteering, reach out to our own camp volunteer Joe Schooley.

As well as replenishing a portion of funds that the program relies on to afford the capital expenses, we incur that are not covered by the registration fee. In 2019 alone there was a significant expense in the two dek surfaces. Hockey Gives Back

We will have a full slate of games on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1. These games are not part of your regular season schedule and do not count toward playoffs. All teams will participate, it gives you an idea of what the Tournament Season is like. Keep an eye out for tryout dates.

Our goal is to raise as much funds as possible through selling T-Shirts. We are asking every player to sell as many t shirts as possible prior to the event.  Use the form attached and bring it along with funds to the event.  All checks should be made payable to the MRC or Marlton Rec Council. All T-Shirt orders must be accompanied by full payment.  We will collect on Saturday and Sunday morning until noon.

We are asking that the coaches collect all your teams T-Shirt forms and funds and turn them in all at once to help us out. There will be a table set up at the event for T-Shirt Sales turn in.   

The team with the most T-Shirt sales as a team will get to play all their regular season games on the dek surface.

The individual player with the most T-Shirt sales will win a $200 Dicks Sporting Good gift card. 

T-Shirts are $20 per shirt.  Design is attached.

The schedule for the event will be posted on the website along with a sign-up genius for volunteering to work snack stand and check in / t-shirt form collection and basket Tent.

All teams will play multiple games over the weekend.  (3) 10 Minute period games with tournament style points system.  There will be playoffs at the end of the weekend and the winners of each division will be recognized on the website but there are no prizes for winning.  Just some bragging rights.

Please make your best effort to sell as many T-Shirts as you can. We will also accept donations. T-Shirts will be delivered the 1st or 2nd week of the season.
